Meditation Mondays
This week’s featured Meditation:
1- First, notice how you feel before you begin.
2- Get into a comfortable, still position and then push play.
3- Notice how you feel after your meditation.. do you feel differently from when you started?
Mindfulness Materials:
Belly Breathing
1. To practice belly-breathing, ask your child to lie comfortably and place their hands on their belly (if they use a stuffed animal, then they can put it on top of their belly ).
2. As you count to three, ask them to inhale deeply through their nose. Tell them to fill their belly with air as they inhale. They should feel their belly filling up and get bigger and bigger. As they fill their belly with air, they will also see their stuffed animal or hand rise up on their belly.
3. Ask them to then exhale to a slow count of four. Tell them too slowly lower their stuffed animal, as they shrink their belly back down in a controlled slow manner.
Do 5 rounds rounds of belly-breathing and then discuss what they noticed.
“Let there be peace on Earth… and let it begin with me”
