This free 5 day course is lead by expert Andy Hobson. Over 5 days, kids have the opportunity to explore working with their breath and dealing with overactive thoughts, managing sad or uncomfortable feelings, learning how to be more kind to themselves and, most importantly, how to let go and slow down.

Belly Breathing

1. To practice belly-breathing, ask your child to lie comfortably and place their hands on their belly (if they use a stuffed animal, then they can put it on top of their belly ).

2. As you count to three, ask them to inhale deeply through their nose. Tell them to fill their belly with air as they inhale. They should feel their belly filling up and get bigger and bigger. As they fill their belly with air, they will also see their stuffed animal or hand rise up on their belly.

3. Ask them to then exhale to a slow count of four. Tell them too slowly lower their stuffed animal, as they shrink their belly back down in a controlled slow manner.

Do 5 rounds rounds of belly-breathing and then discuss what they noticed.
